The more we know and the closer we are to natural ecosystems, the more empathy and sense of protection we create with all its species. And this is the motto of this experience: interacting, knowing and identifying marine species of the coast of Barcelona.
In this 2 hours snorkel experience, you will experience a light immersion session at the natural wealth of Barcelonés beaches and learn to use the necessary material to carry out a safe practice. An experience that will allow you to discover the biodiversity present on the beaches and identify it thanks to the monitors and specialized marine guides.
You will also have the chance to meet a local team, committed to the conservation of the marine coast of Catalonia, with a vast knowledge of its ecosystems, fauna, and flora. This team works daily in the education, sensitization, and awareness of citizens and tourists about the environmental problems of this area, and in the urgency to preserve the species that are the life of these underwater areas.

Do I need to speak the local language?
No, you don't need to have any previous skills in the local language! All of our programs are run entirely in English and our guides and staff are all comfortable speaking English as well! But we always encourage our participants to get acquainted with some of the most basic terms and expressions, as even just a simple "Good morning!" in the local language can be a great icebreaker to start interacting with the locals!
There are also language lessons available for volunteers. The language lessons can be booked before or on the arrival. Lessons are taught by a professional teacher and tailored to each volunteer’s current language level.
