Meet ImpacTrip Team: Klara Višnjić

Klara is Croatian and she is our local coordinator in Split. Born and raised in Split, she joined the team last year because she believes all of us can create a positive impact every day.

Today she shares with us a bit of herself.

3 curiosities about you:

I am a big fan of adventure sports so I trained freestyle diving when I was 10 years old and love to ski off-piste.
Throughout my youth, I was involved in theatre and I’m a big cinephile.
At the age of 18, I had the courage to move halfway across the world all by myself.

Describe yourself in 3 words.

Energetic, empathetic and courageous.

What does traveling mean to you?

Travelling to me means witnessing vast wonders of our beautiful planet and learning from people who are culturally different to us, all for the outcome of growing shared knowledge, solidarity, support and inspiration.

Why did you choose to be part of ImpacTrip Team?

I was thrilled to find out this meaningful type of tourism exists in my hometown. I strongly believe that tourism can be a force for good and I wanted to work with a group of people who believe the same. The job is so interesting and dynamic and it allows me to work with people who make a difference in our community.

What is for you the biggest challenge in the tourism sector nowadays?

I think the biggest challenge for tourism is currently to blend meaningful and unique experiences with automation that’s constantly imposed by rapid digitalisation.

The most unforgettable experience abroad and why?

I cannot choose only one, but the two that are up there are:
singing “We are the World” with complete strangers but new friends, on the stairs of Sacre du Coeur overlooking Paris
seeing the “Nutcracker” Ballet Show in Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow.

The 3 things you admire more in people

Honesty, resilience and patience

What’s your favourite travel time and type?

I love to travel during spring because everything is in bloom then and you can travel light. Although I love mountains so winter is a second choice. My favourite type of holiday is something really active and adventurous, or a road trip.

Three things you always take with you when you travel and three things you never take with you when you travel

Things I cannot do without when travelling are headphones, sunglasses and a camera. I never take my laptop if I mustn’t, chocolate because it melts (I learned the hard way) and prejudice.

Leave your motto

Magic happens outside of your comfort zone!

Would you like to add anything?

Make the most of every day 🙂
