Mafra
Mafra is a cute little Portuguese town and home to one of the most majestic palaces in Europe!
Located just 30 kilometers north of Lisbon along the Portuguese West Coast, Mafra is a popular spot for day-trip visitors from the capital. The town is mostly known for its pompous 'Palacio de Mafra', one of Europe's most enormous palaces. However, the seaside community Ericeira, regarded by many surfing fanatics as a true Surf Mecca for its exceptional coastline conditions, and surrounding Natural Park 'Tapada Nacional de Mafra', an unusually rich and diversified natural habitat home to numerous wild animal species, also make Mafra a great place to explore during a visit to Portugal!
